Dr. Babak Bozorgy
Babak is a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and Principal Civil/Water Engineer and Team Leader in MWH. He has a PhD in Water Resources Engineering and over 20 years of experience in water resources planning and management as well as in the design of hydraulic structures and wet utilities across multiple countries, including Australia, Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Iran.
His completed projects vary from master planning and feasibility studies to the complete (conceptual, preliminary and detailed) design of major wet infrastructure valued in the billions of dollars, including flood mitigation, stormwater drainage schemes, water supply and distribution networks, dams, hydraulic structures and hydropower schemes.
Babak has published several technical and research papers in major scientific journals and regularly presents at international conferences. In the past, he taught several undergraduate courses in Civil Engineering courses as a university lecturer, including Fluid Mechanics, Hydrology, Hydraulics, Design of Hydraulic Structures, Environmental Engineering and Water and Wastewater Engineering. He recently authored the chapter on “Best Management Practices in Urban Water Cycle” in the Urban Water Reuse Handbook, published by CRC Press-Taylor & Francis Group in late January 2016.
