Dr. Najib Dandachi
After graduating in 1989 with a Ph.D in Electrical Power Systems from Imperial College, London, Dr. Najib H Dandachi joined System Operation of the Central Electricity Generating Board (CEGB) U.K., before its privatisation. He later continued at the National Grid Control Centre of England & Wales where he held a number of senior posts involved with both the operational and the commercial obligations of the Control Centre.
Since 1998, Najib moved to the UAE to take up the post of the Load Despatch Centre Manager of Abu Dhabi Transmission & Despatch Company, Transco, ADWEA. In 2006, he became the Director of Network Services in charge of the three main Engineering Divisions in the company: the Control Centre, Power & Water transmission business. In 2010, he became the Director of Asset Management and played a leading role in Transco's transformation which led to acquiring the PAS55 and the ISO55000 Standards.
He lead the UAE team on the Gulf electricity Interconnection and played a key role in compiling legal, commercial and technical agreements between the Gulf member States.
Dr. Dandachi is an independent prominent regional Asset Management expert; he chaired numerous international meetings and delivered keynote speeches and talks on energy markets, system optimisation, Water strategies and infrastructure asset management. He is the Founder and CEO of Al Usul Ltd (www.al-Usul.com) in MASDAR City.
