Doctor in Physical Sciences (organic chemistry), he was first Professor of Chemical Engineering specialised in water treatment. He joined the private water industry in 1986 and was appointed Technical Director of the Northumbrian Group (UK) and then Technical and Scientific Director of Lyonnaise des Eaux (Suez Group).
Since 2014, he is acting as President of DVC Consulting and as President of the Supervisory Board of MASCARA-NT for the development and trading of the OSMOSUN technologies.
For the last 10 years he’s been also leading various topics on R&D+I in the fields of water treatments, including solar desalination using solar energy technologies, seminars on water and health
He served as President of several French and European commissions (Scientific & Technical Commission in FP2E, and Wastewater Commission of ASTEE, former President of EUREAU). He is also member of scientific committees of engineering schools (Ecole Nationale des Ponts & Chaussées in Paris, and ENGEES in Strasbourg). From 2010 to 2014, he’s been acting as President of the competitiveness cluster (pôles de compétitivité), DREAM, and finally serves also, under the French Ministry of Industry, as Chairman of the COSEI Eau (Strategic Committee on Water) which aims to raise barriers and develop further the competitiveness of French water industries in France and abroad, gathering representatives from all corners of the profession.
